This Framework for Mine Action Planning and Rapid Response (previously reffered to as the Rapid Response Plan (RRP) was produced as part of the UN's Mine Action Strategy (Objective 2.1) during 2001-2002. It was developed in order to facilitate the rapid deployment of appropriate mine action capabilities when required as part of emergency humanitarian or peacekeeping operations. This version is a revison of the framework that has been in use until now, and incorporates the lessons learned from its use in Iraq.
