Incoming Force Commander and Ag. Head of Mission arrives in Abyei

The Incoming UNISFA Force Commander and Acting Head of Mission, Major General Benjamin Olufemi Sawyerr of Nigeria, arrived in Abyei on 28 February 2022. Maj. Gen. Sawyerr succeeds Force Commander and Acting Head of Mision Major General Kefyalew Amde Tessema of Ethiopia, who will shortly complete his assignment.

Maj. Gen. Sawyerr was received in Abyei by Maj. Gen.Tessema . In Kadugli, Maj. Gen. Sawyer met with JBVMM Commander, Brigadier General Atogebakoga Alobawone and senior JBVMM officials.
