Handbook on United Nations Multidimensional Peacekeeping Operations The Handbook is intended to serve as an introduction to the varied aspects of multidimensional peacekeeping operations and to provide readers with a general overview of the responsibilities of each component of the operation. The primary audience of the Handbook is field personnel who are new to the UN or who are being deployed to a multidimensional peacekeeping operation for the first time.

The purpose of the Directive on Sexual Harassment in United Nations Peacekeeping and Other Field Missions, for Military Members of National Contingents, Military Observers and Civilian Police Officeris to inform military members of national contingents, military observers and civilian police officers of the United Nations
policy and procedures on sexual harassment. Field mission personnel are strongly advised to familiarize themselves with this directive and to abide by it.
This directive provides illustrations of what constitutes sexual harassment; explains the different avenues for resolution of differences/grievances; outlines
the steps necessary to lodge a complaint and the organizational process to address a grievance of sexual harassment.
